12 Oaks Guidelines for Reopen

Guidelines for Reopening 12 Oaks

The staff and deacons would like to thank the church for its faithfulness and patience during these difficult days. We encourage the same faithfulness and patience in the days ahead. We realize that the plan that follows could change, so may we walk together with love and grace.  We are looking forward to the days that we can come back together like before and have a Comeback Sunday. Until then, the following guidelines will explain how 12 Oaks will reopen while adhering to all the guidelines from the CDC and the governor’s office.

  • Before we reopen, we will deep clean the entire church and the church will be cleaned after every service.
  • We will have in person services on June 7. This is subject to change given any new information.
  • We will begin with one service on Sunday morning at 1045am in the sanctuary only with the tentative plan to have 2 Sunday services when it seems wise to do so. We also plan to offer the service via live stream in other parts of our building when it seems wise to do so.
  • We can seat approximately 127 people total in the sanctuary while maintaining 6-foot social distancing. With the praise team (8), pastors (2), Live stream operator (1), Greeters (2), Security (2), Deacons(2), and leaving room for guests (10), we will have 100 seats available.
  • We encourage the vulnerable population, those with illnesses, or pregnant to stay home to refrain from the possibility of contracting the coronavirus on the church campus.
  • The Sunday service will be live streamed as well as the prayer meeting on Wednesday evening.
  • Attenders will have to register online to attend an in-person service. Sign-ups will be on a first come, first served basis. A link to sign up will be emailed to the church. Attenders can contact the office to sign up if slots are open. Registration for Sunday service will open Monday’s at 9am and will close on Thursday’s at 9am. Those who sign up will receive an email with instructions to attend the service.
  • Attenders will be asked to enter the church through the canopy entrance and maintain 6-foot social distancing when entering the church.
  • Attenders will be asked to meet and greet with a social distancing smile and wave.
  • Attenders will need to verify that they have not had symptoms of sickness. We ask that attenders take their temperature before coming to the service. If they have not, we will take their temperature at the church. If they have a temperature of 100.4 degrees or over, they will not be allowed into the service.
  • Attenders should wear masks and masks will be available to members upon entry of the church.
  • One greeter will be assigned at the entrance to hold the door open. Another greeter will be assigned at the entrance to verify health of the attenders and give masks as needed.
  • Attenders will be ushered to their seats. The chairs will be plastic so attenders are encouraged to bring a cushion if they would like. Attenders will find name tags, a sharpie, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes at their seat. We ask attenders to wear a name tag and wipe down their seat after the service with a disinfectant wipe.
  • Seating will adhere to the 6-foot social distancing rule and we ask attenders to maintain 6-foot social distancing at all times.
  • We request that attenders do not roam the hallways, or use any of the Sunday School rooms, or the Library. This will help us with cleaning and help us to be safer.
  • There will be a security team to monitor the church.
  • The bathrooms behind the worship center will be open, but we will only allow one person at a time, and only one stall will be open. After a person is finished, we ask the person to wipe down what they have used, using the disinfectant wipes provided in the bathroom.
  • Pew Bibles, hymnals, pens will be removed. Donuts and coffee will not be provided.
  • Offering plates will be at the back of the worship center for members to give their offering on their way out after the service and online giving will be encouraged.
  • We will dismiss by rows and slowly to maintain social distancing. We will ask members to exit a certain door.
  • The first Sunday back will be celebrated, but we will plan on a bigger celebration or a Comeback Sunday when we get to that point.
  • Youth bible studies will be offered on Wednesday nights while adhering to the above requirements.
  • There will be no nursery, prek, or kids ministry until further notice.
  • Bus ministry will not run until further notice.
