A Legacy of Faith Since 1907

Twelfth Street Baptist Church began in 1907 as a mission of First Baptist Paducah, uniting 69 faithful believers with a shared vision to reach their community for Christ. In its early years, the church experienced remarkable growth and connection, inspiring the formation of its first building committee in 1918 — a testament to God’s continued blessing and the dedication of His people.

A Legacy of Faith and Endurance

Through every season of life — from floods and wars to relocation and renewal — the story of 12 Oaks stands as a testimony of unwavering faith. In 1937, floodwaters filled the church basement while families found refuge in the sanctuary itself. The 1940s brought new beginnings with outreach programs and mission work, even as the world faced great conflict. Through the decades, this community witnessed God's hand in every milestone — the founding of Western Baptist Hospital, the growth of ministries, and the dedication of men called into Gospel service.

As time moved forward, the church embraced change — relocating, rebuilding, and reimagining its mission, yet never losing its purpose. From the trials of 2020 to the celebrations of 115 years in 2022, 12 Oaks continues to stand firm as a beacon of faith, love, and perseverance — a living reminder that the gates of hell will never prevail against God's Church.
